- No open surgery, faster recovery
- Diagnose and treat in one sitting
About this treatment
Endoscopy lets us see inside the abdomen and uterus and treat problems through tiny incisions — keyhole surgery — rather than open operations. Our facility has two advanced endoscopic operating theatres for both laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, used for diagnosis and treatment alike.
Hysteroscopy passes a fine telescope through the cervix to evaluate the uterine cavity and treat conditions such as adhesions, septa, polyps or fibroids. Laparoscopy uses a small camera through the navel to assess the fallopian tubes, ovaries and pelvis — checking tubal patency and treating endometriosis, adhesions, ovarian cysts and fibroids.
Because it avoids open surgery, endoscopy means smaller scars, less pain, lower risk and a much faster recovery — many diagnostic laparoscopy patients go home within a few hours.

Endoscopy — your questions
Common questions about this treatment. Anything else? Our team is happy to talk it through.
No. Keyhole surgery uses a few very small incisions, so scarring is minimal compared with traditional open surgery.
It depends on what's done, but recovery is much quicker than open surgery — many diagnostic laparoscopy patients leave the hospital within a few hours and resume normal activity within days.
It can diagnose and treat conditions that prevent conception — blocked tubes, endometriosis, fibroids, adhesions or uterine abnormalities — often improving the chance of natural or assisted pregnancy.
